A Legacy of Trusted Debt Counselling

Debt Center is built on four unwavering pillars: trust, honesty, transparency, and integrity.

The journey began in 2009, when Annienne Nel entered the debt counselling profession with a clear sense of purpose: to assist South African consumers in navigating financial difficulty with dignity, care, and lawful guidance. Based in Bellville, Cape Town, Annienne developed her expertise through hands-on involvement in the full debt review process — from consumer applications and administration to client support, enquiries, and the legal processes required to obtain debt restructuring consent orders in the Magistrates’ Court.

These formative years laid the foundation for what has become a respected and trusted name in consumer financial support.

In 2015, Annienne Nel formally registered as a debt counsellor, and Consumer Debt Support was established. Since then, the practice has grown into a professional service built on ethical conduct, strict legal compliance, and meaningful consumer care. Over the years, the business has positively impacted the lives of many individuals and families through structured debt rehabilitation and ongoing financial guidance.

Annienne is an experienced and highly regarded debt counsellor with a strong reputation within the industry and before the National Credit Regulator (NCR). She has been recognised among the Top 55 Debt Counsellors in South Africa, reflecting her consistent commitment to excellence, ethical practice, and consumer wellbeing.

Her leadership extends beyond her own practice. Annienne has been appointed to serve on DCASA (Debt Counsellors Association of South Africa) as the Western Cape Representative for the 2026–2027 term, where she contributes to the development of debt counsellors and promotes strong ethical standards within the profession.

Her work reflects a deeper purpose: not only to assist consumers through debt review, but to create practical support systems that strengthen households and restore long-term financial stability.

This vision led to the establishment of FoodBank4Hope, an outreach initiative founded by Annienne, together with Zak King and Niquetta Oosthuizen, her daughter and a registered debt counsellor. Through this programme, support is extended to vulnerable families facing food insecurity, with contributions from banks, attorneys, PDAs, and other industry stakeholders who share the commitment to making a meaningful difference — where it matters most, in the home.

Annienne understands that financial hardship extends beyond financial obligations. It affects families, emotional wellbeing, dignity, and the ability to meet daily living needs. Her business has been built with compassion, practical insight, and a deep understanding of the realities consumers face when income changes, debt becomes unmanageable, and life presents unforeseen challenges.

With years of experience, Annienne has become a trusted guide to many — offering not only professional debt counselling services, but also support, education, and direction during difficult financial circumstances.
